Deputy Manager – Games Services
Main responsibilities
Reporting to the General Management of the Tahiti 2027 Local Organizing Committee, the Deputy Games Services Manager will be responsible for the planning, provision, and implementation of services and temporary infrastructure for the Pacific Games. They will ensure close coordination with the various sub-committees and stakeholders to guarantee the operational success of the Games. Working in tandem with the Games Services Manager, they will be responsible for carrying out the following missions:
- Services and Infrastructure Planning: Develop and implement customized solutions to bridge the gaps between existing infrastructure and the COJ's requirements.
- Operations Coordination: Supervise site operations management, ensuring close collaboration with all involved sub-committees and relevant operators.
- Resource Management: Identify, plan, and coordinate the necessary resources (human, material, logistical) for the various phases of the event.
- Stakeholder Interface: Work in liaison with internal and external partners to meet their specific needs and ensure the quality of services provided.
- Supervision of Temporary Facilities: Plan and manage the setup of temporary infrastructure required for the event (marquees, tents, sanitary facilities, platforms, etc.).
- Site Management: Ensure the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of operations on sites, including crowd flow management and security barriers.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Organize and supervise the teams in charge of cleaning and waste management before, during, and after the events, following an eco-responsible approach.
- Logistics and Transport: Coordinate logistics services, including the transport and delivery of equipment, uniforms, and supplies required for Games operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the status of preparations, challenges encountered, and solutions implemented.
The scope of work will initially cover the following functions:
- Plans: Creation and updating of maps and plans for operational needs.
- Site Management: Coordination of installations and management of operations on sites.
- Facilities and Equipment: Delivery of temporary structures and necessary amenities.
- Technical Services: Management of technical aspects (electricity, water, air conditioning, sanitation, etc.).
- Cleaning and Waste Management: Maintenance of cleanliness and waste management.
- Logistics: Planning and provision of supply services and uniforms.
- Signage: Planning and management of the event's signage deployment.
Candidate profile
- At least 3 years of experience in a position of responsibility and team management.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects; ideally in the field of international sports events would be a major asset.
- Understanding of all business lines and organizational challenges, with an interest in sports and competition issues.
- Strong project management, planning, and reporting skills (multi-tasking under time constraints).
- Analytical and synthesis skills.
- Knowledge of the local context and stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead/manage large teams and work collaboratively.
- Ability to anticipate problems and propose appropriate solutions.
- Versatile, rigorous, and diplomatic.
- Aptitude for making quick decisions and arbitrating under time pressure.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English required.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
